A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

Rating: 4.5/5

ACOTAR WAS INTENSELY GOOD. (I read this before ACOMAF, don't worry.)

The plot circulates around Feyre, a daughter of a merchant who lost his fortune. For eight years, Feyre hunted around the woods to provide food for her family. One day, she kills a wolf as it was about to prey on a doe. Hitting birds with one stone, she brings home both, skins it, and sells it in the market. A faerie in a shape of a wolf appears and takes her away. That's when she meets Tamlin, the High Lord of Autumn Court. She falls in love with him eventually. After a a few months of staying with each other, Amarantha, a cruel queen takes Tamlin away from her. Proving that her love is stronger than the curse that holds Tamlin and the whole Prythian, she ventures to Under The Mountain. Feyre faces three challenges and a riddle to solve. She then sets every faerie in Pyrithian free.
ACOTAR was great. It even included a map and a pronunciation guide. The feel of the book escalated as well as how the characters developed. Although, I do want to point out more of Lucien because he was so well-described and I want to know more about him. Tamlin, on the other hand, seems a bit of a flat character. Although I commend how Feyre thought and acted. She has a strong personality and was such an influence in the book. Rhysand had a slow character development, which is what I kind of didn't like. I wanted to know more of how he was to lesser faeries. I wanted to see his evil side more. Amarantha had done a really good job, though. And aside from the characters, the plot was incredible. It was awesome.
